A few weeks ago, I was flipping through AFAR magazine when I came upon a post about volunteering at the Faroe Islands. I didn’t even know where they were, but I was intrigued. I had 2 days to apply, so I just filled out the form on a whim.

A couple of days later, I got an email congratulating me for being chosen from 1000s of international applicants to come work there while the islands were closed to visitors. I decided to take the opportunity to fly to Reykjavik via London, because I’ve always wanted to see puffins and soak in the beauty and hot springs of Iceland. I’ll keep you posted on my journey once I embark at the end of April.

Stay tuned!
